REPORT BY THE CITIZENS’ CRIMINAL JUSTICE ADVISORY
TASK FORCE
On July 23, 2002, the Racine County Board of
Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 2002-66, which created a Citizens’ Criminal
Justice Advisory Task Force. The Resolution called for the Task Force to
be comprised of 12 to 15 citizens to be appointed by the County Executive and
confirmed by the County Board. The Resolution outlined and set deadlines
for the work of the Task Force. On September 17, 2002, the County Board
confirmed the appointments to the Task Force made by then-County Executive Jean
Jacobson.
The Task Force began meeting soon after, continuing to
meet until they had completed a report, dated June 27, 2003, containing their
final recommendations for consideration.
Although it has officially received the Report, the
County Board has not yet considered, discussed or taken a position on any of
the recommendations of the Task Force contained in it. The placement of
the Report on the Racine County website does not, therefore, imply an
endorsement of the recommendations. The Report is presented here to
provide members of the public an opportunity to read it and discuss it.
